Happy Story: Parker and the Patriots

December 12, 2018

When a little boy named Parker began having trouble breathing, his parents knew something wasn’t right and immediately brought him in to Dell Children’s Medical Center. Parker was checked in for a sleep study and ultimately this family’s worst nightmare came true when he was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor right at the base if his brain stem. This began what would be a 73 day stay at Dell Children’s Medical Center where this family’s community of supporters would rally around him to fight this battle. Parker happens to be obsessed with football and his favorite team is the New England Patriots. Family friends began sending Instagram messages to players on the New England Patriots letting them know about Parker’s fight… and they began responding. One after another, multiple players, including his favorite, Rob Gronkowski, began sending him video messages. Gronkowski even went the extra mile and sent the little guy a care package with an autographed football.  Parker was so inspired, it gave him the extra boost he needed to actually get out to see his friends for the first time since his diagnosis. They were all wearing green t-shirt that read TEAM PARKER.
