There's a huge call for Hand Sanitizer that's being used for help to prevent the spreading of the Coronavirus. Many stores are out!  Others are selling their personal overstock for double, triple and even more than it's worth.  So many folks are making their own hand sanitizers. Here's a basic recipe that is being created ...

Hand Sanitizer Ingredients

  • Alcohol (Forbes recommends 91 percent isopropyl, but cheap Vodka will work in a pinch)
ONE THING FORGOTTEN MAKE SURE THE ALCOHOL CONTENT IN THE VODKA IS 60% OR HIGHER!
  • Aloe vera gel
  • Essential oils (if you want to be fancy. This is what Good Housekeeping suggests)

Instructions

  • Pour the alcohol into a small bottle until it’s between a quarter and third full.
  • Fill the rest of the bottle with aloe vera gel
  • Add a few drops of your favorite essential oils
  • Mix together

Tito's Vodka has become one of the most popular being used, and they want folks to stop using it!

Again Tito's is only 40% alc/vol. It's not high enough to use for hand sanitizer. Make sure the alcohol level is 60% or more before creating your own hand sanitizer. Do a shot of Tito's, if you're 21 & up, responsibly ,with that thought in mind! Cheers!

*BTW : It's best to wash your hands in warm water with soap for 20 seconds. Hand sanitizer is a better secondary / combo choice.
