It was President Bill Clinton who proclaimed the 1st #NationalMammographyDay in 1993. It's the 3rd Friday of the month of October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! It's a day that serves to remind all women & men that their best defense against Breast Cancer is early Detection. Most often a Mammogram can detect a problem before there is any noticeable physical sign. It's important to get a regular checkup and keep up w/ your health.

September 15th, I had my yearly Mammogram.. 3-D to keep up on my health. Last year, I had my first 3-D Mammagram, and I had to get an MRI to make sure it was just dense breast tissue that I had. Thank goodness it came back negative for Breast Cancer. This year, my results were also negative, which I am extremely Thankful for. I know there are many who get a different result.  It's one of the reasons getting a Mammogram is extremely helpful. The earlier Breast Cancer is detected the better it is to beat it down and out!

Even though I'm having issues w/ my insurance processing it properly, so I don't have to pay for it all.. red tape paperwork is always fun...  It's definitely worth it to have some piece of mind.  Be sure to keep doing monthly breast exams. Of course, if you think there is something there, even if it's not detected, don't blow it off. Get it checked out!  It's always best to over do the checking, rather than ignoring it.
