Today, March 26th is #PurpleDay. Epilepsy Awareness Day.  Honoring those who are living w/ Epilepsy each day. Those who have it, and their families who are supporting and helping their Loved ones.

My first experience w/ Epilepsy was actually growing up w/ my poodle Mitzi. She played w/ me all the time. Always followed me around. She was with me from when I was a baby to 3rd grade.  She lived to be about 11 years old. As I grew bigger, my Mama Betty explained to me what can happen with Mitzi, and how to help her when seizures would come on. Even though she was getting up in age, an Epileptic Seizure that caused a Stroke is what took her away from us.

There have been times in my life I've had classmates and co-workers who are living w/ Epilepsy.  Many Facebook friends are dealing w/ Epilepsy that is affecting their families. It's scary to see Loved ones having to deal w/ Epilepsy each day. Feeling helpless at times wishing it would go away. Many times the seizures can cause other problems too. But I have seen strength and compassion rise above Epilepsy. Not letting it define who people are. Fighting to overcome!  Taking it day by day ...  Big Hugs to all in this constant fight! You are True Superheroes in life ...

Aislinn & Cee are the first Superheroes that popped in my head. Next time you see Cee at the Deli/ Cheese counter at H-E-B off Brodie & William Cannon  give her a "YOU ROCK!"
