I got a bit giddy when I saw that Shake Shack has a cheesy burger helper recipe out.  It brought back a memory when I was a junior in college, and moved w/ my friend sheryl to our 1st apartment. It was a 1 bedroom. I got the bedroom because I had a twin bed, and she took over the living room because she had a queen. It was basically 2 small bedrooms with a small bathroom and smaller kitchen. When you opened the front door you'd see a big bed in the liviing room. But it was our first time out of the house, paying our rent, and living life.

With the reality of bills hitting us, and wanting to go out, we were able to stretch our grocery bill. Hamburger Helper was a favorite for dinner for us. We could get 2-3 meals a week out of it, depending on how much beef like product we found. One night Sheryl cooked dinner, and wasn't much on following directions. We had Cheeseburger Hamburger Helper, which she Rocked. Dessert, she baked chocolate chip cookies, but got the salt and sugar mixed up. We took one bite and ran to the sink to spit it out. After a big laughing fit, we got ready and went out to ladies night at a Rock Bar.

Hamburger Helper and chocolate chip cookies give me a happy memory of Sheryl. She joined the Navy a year after we moved out, kept in touch for a little while, then lost touch.  It's been a very long time since we've seen / talked to each other. I hope she is doing Great in life. It would be wild if she saw this recipe thinking back to those days too....

Shake Shack's gussied up Cheesy ShackBurger Helper seems like a yummy winner.  Maybe dinner and a movie staying at home date night w/ your honey, or with the family. Nothing wrong with breaking open the twist top wine. Memorial Day Monday is also Wine Day, which can be anyday to celebrate. Cheers to Happy Memories! Enjoy!
