It's that time of year! Many will head to the Big D to say Howdy to Big Tex. A 24 day celebration of all things Texas with Fried Food / Fun for all! 

Here are 10 Thingies to Know Before You Go to the State Fair of Texas

  1. The SFOT 24 day run starts Friday, September 27 through Sunday, October 20. Gates open at 10am. Parking lots & ticket booths open at 7am.
  2. The SFOT is at Fair Park just a few miles east of downtown Dallas and south of Interstate 30
  3. Concessions & exhibits close at 9pm Sunday - Thursday. Friday & Saturday at 10pm
  4. The SFOT has 12 entrance gates to get tickets. You can also buy them online  Discount days / tix
  5. Big Tex 2019 Choice Award Winners  the best of the Fried Food Fun you can eat! Get to know these, so you're ready to eat'em!  
  6. There's also this side of the SFOT food - Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free & Healthier Fair Food

Bonus SFOT Wellness Thingie: Thursday, October 10th is World Sight Day. The Alcon Foundation is offering FREE eye health screenings, first-come, first-served, to attendees of the State Fair of Texas from 9a - 7p. Look for the Alcon tent at the Nimitz Terrace. In addition to screenings, there will be virtual reality tours of the human eye, fun giveaways and more!
